Biochemical and physiological responses of soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merrill] to nickel toxicity

چکیده

Nickel (Ni) was the latest element to have its nutritional essentiality recognized for plants (Brown et al. 1987). It is a component of various enzymes, including glyoxalases (family I), hydrogenases, superoxide dismutase and urease (Chen 2009). Inadequate Ni supply promotes changes in plant metabolism, processes related nitrogen such as amino acids, urea ureides metabolisms (Rodríguez-Jiménez 2016; Bai 2006). Legumes that are dependent on N2 fixation (e.g., soybean) their process impaired by deficiency, because this an essential catalytic cofactor [NiFe]-hydrogenase, enzyme found some symbiotic bacteria recycles H2 produced side reaction nitrogenase root nodules formed plant-bacteria association (Cammack 1995; Bagyinka 2014). Moreover, has shown potential control soybean diseases, powdery mildew (Barcelos 2018) Asian rust (Einhardt 2020a; 2020b).

Improvement of qualitative and quantitative traits in soybean [Glycine Max (L.) Merrill] through gamma irradiation

Gamma irradiation was used at different doses (80, 160 and 240 Gy) on Glycine Max (L.) Merrill cv. Hill homogenous seeds. A single suitable M2 plant was selected and evaluated at M3 and M4 along with its parent and three other varieties as control in RCBD experiment in Sari Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources University’s experimental field. M-8...

Response of Soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merrill] to Sources and Levels of Phosphorus

A field experiment was conducted during rainy seasons of 2007-2009 in India (Manipur) to study the effect of different sources and levels of phosphorus on productivity of soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merrill]. The treatments consisted of four sources of phosphorus [Single super phosphate (SSP), Di-ammonium phosphate (DAP), Single super phosphate (SSP)+Phosphate solubilizing bacteria (PSB), Di-ammo...

Assessment of seed storage protein composition of six Iranian adopted soybean cultivars [Glycine max (L.) Merrill.]

Seed protein quality is an important topic in the production of soybean. The quality of soybean proteins is limited by anti-nutrient proteins and low levels of essential sulfur amino acids. In this study, protein content and solubility of six cultivars were evaluated and seed storage proteins were analyzed using SDS-PAGE and scanning densitometry. The results showed that seed storage protein ba...

A Rapid Method to Analyze Saponin Precursors in Soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merrill)

A rapid and efficient analytical method was developed to distinguish and to quantify two major saponin precursors in soybeans; soyasapogenol A, contributing to the undesirable sensory characteristics, and soyasapogenol B, representing group B and E saponins, which have chemoprotective properties. Aqueous ethanolic extraction (80 % v/v) yielded the highest recovery of saponin from finely ground ...

Soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr].

In this chapter we describe an Agrobacterium tumefaciens transformation method of soybean that utilizes mature half seeds and regeneration from the cotyledonary node region. This method results in fertile transformed soybean plants and transgenic seed in approximately 9 months. Using mature half seeds as starting material has proven to be a reliable method that does not require additional wound...
